Day by day overview:
Day 1: Arrival in Arusha
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer to Arusha. Check in at Legendary Lodge, nestled in a lush garden within a working coffee plantation. Briefing about your safari. Overnight stay with half board.
Day 2: Flight to Northern Serengeti
Take a scheduled flight to the Northern Serengeti, offering breathtaking views of iconic landmarks. Upon arrival, embark on a game drive to the camp, arriving in time for lunch. Explore the wilderness in the afternoon, enjoy sundowners, and have dinner at the camp.
Day 3-4: Northern Serengeti
Experience the magic of the Mara River, where the great wildebeest migration takes place from July to October. Witness the incredible river crossings and the interaction between predators and prey. Enjoy morning and late afternoon game drives, bush lunches, and sundowners by the campfire.
Day 5: Flight to Mahale National Park
Fly to Mahale National Park, a journey that takes about four hours with a refuel stop. Arrive at Mahale airstrip and take a boat to Greystoke Mahale. Marvel at the stunning scenery as you skim along the shores of Lake Tanganyika, surrounded by the Mahale Mountains.
Day 6-8: Mahale National Park
Explore the Mahale National Park, home to the iconic Greystoke mess and the fascinating chimpanzees. Spend time with the chimps and hike the forest paths to encounter other wildlife in this pristine environment. Relax on the white sandy beach and enjoy the unique wilderness experience.
Day 9: Departure
Bid farewell to Greystoke Mahale and transfer to the airstrip by boat. Catch a shared charter flight back to Arusha with a refuel stop in Tabora. Arrive in Arusha in the late afternoon, connecting with international departures from Kilimanjaro Airport. End of the unforgettable safari.
